A Quick, Honest Guide
General signs to watch for — but the free on-site inspection is always what actually decides it, not a checklist.
Repair Usually Makes Sense
- One window with a single foggy or failed seal, otherwise sound
- Sliding door that's stiff, off-track, or has worn rollers
- Worn hardware, locks, cranks, or hinges
- Torn screens or failed weatherstripping
- Cosmetic damage — frame scuffs, minor caulk or paint issues
Replacement Usually Wins
- Multiple windows fogging or failing across the house
- Rotted, water-damaged, or warped frames
- Old single-pane glass in a hot, west-facing room
- Hardware that keeps failing again after repairs
- Repair cost is creeping close to what a new window runs

Repair Questions, Answered
How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?
That's exactly what the free on-site inspection is for. Guy or Adam will look at the window or door in person and give you an honest recommendation — most stuck sashes, worn hardware, and sliding door track issues are same-visit repairs, while damaged frames or failed seals sometimes call for a full replacement.
Can you fix a sliding glass door that's hard to open or off its track?
Yes — this is one of our most common repair calls. New rollers, a track cleaning, and fresh weatherstripping solve the vast majority of sticking or off-track sliding doors.
Do you repair window screens?
Yes, we repair and replace damaged or torn window screens, usually in the same visit as any other window work.
How fast can you come look at a repair?
Call us and we'll get you scheduled fast — we're open 7 days a week, 8 AM to 8 PM, with the phone answered 24/7. The inspection itself is always free.
My window broke after a break-in — can you fix it today?
Yes — that's a priority call for us. See our same-day window replacement page for break-ins, or just call (818) 660-2836 and we'll get you taken care of fast.
How much does window repair cost compared to a full replacement?
It depends entirely on the damage, which is why we do a free on-site inspection instead of quoting blind over the phone. As a rule of thumb: if a repair is creeping close to what a new window would cost, replacement is usually the better long-term value — we'll tell you honestly which side of that line your job falls on.
Can foggy or fogged double-pane windows be repaired?
Sometimes. A single failed seal on an otherwise sound window can often be resealed or have the glass unit replaced. If fogging keeps coming back or shows up across multiple windows, that usually points to age-related seal failure throughout the house, and replacement makes more sense.
Do you repair screen doors, not just window screens?
Yes — screen doors, window screens, and sliding screen panels are all things we repair or rebuild, usually in the same visit as any other window or door work.
Can you fix loose or leaking shower door hardware?
Yes — loose, misaligned, or leaking shower door hinges and hardware are a quick, same-visit fix in most cases. If the glass itself is cracked or too damaged to save, we can also handle custom shower glass replacement.
