Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Real Questions We Get Every Week

Straight answers about our windows, doors, shower glass, service area, and process — no sales spin. Don't see your question? Just call.

Company & Service Area

What areas does NG Windows and Doors serve?

All of Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the western Inland Empire, including Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. We do not currently serve the Antelope Valley (Palmdale/Lancaster), the far Inland Empire (Temecula/Murrieta), or broader Ventura County beyond Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. Not sure if you're covered? Just call — we'll tell you honestly.

What are your hours?

We're open 7 days a week, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, and the phone is answered 24/7 — call any time, not just during business hours.

Do Guy and Adam actually do the work themselves?

Yes. We're a two-person, owner-operated company — no subcontractors, no rotating crews. Guy or Adam personally handles your consultation and your installation or repair.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we're licensed and insured on every job.

Do you offer financing?

Not currently. Financing isn't something we offer right now, though it's something we may add in the future. We're happy to talk through project scope and timing to help make a larger job more manageable.

Repairs vs. Replacement

Do you do repairs, or only new installations?

Both — we specialize in repairs, not just installs and replacements. Window repair, sliding door repair, and screen repair/replacement are some of our most common calls. We'll always give you an honest assessment of whether a repair or a full replacement is the right call for your situation.

How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?

Honestly, most homeowners can't tell from the outside — a stuck sash or a foggy seal can look like it needs full replacement when it's actually a simple fix, and vice versa. That's exactly what the free on-site consultation is for: Guy or Adam inspects the actual problem in person and tells you which one genuinely makes sense, without steering you toward the more expensive option.

Can you fix a sliding door that's hard to open instead of replacing it?

Often, yes — new rollers, track cleaning, and weatherstripping solve most sliding door problems. We'll assess it honestly during your free consultation before recommending a full replacement.

Pricing & Process

How much will my project cost?

It depends on size, materials, and scope, so we don't quote sight-unseen. Every project starts with a free, no-obligation on-site consultation — Guy or Adam measures and inspects in person and gives you a transparent, itemized quote before any work begins.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes, always — no obligation to book after.

How long does a typical job take?

Most single-window or single-door jobs are done in a few hours to half a day. Larger jobs — full-home window replacement, multi-panel sliding walls, custom shower glass — typically run 1–3 days depending on scope. We'll give you a realistic timeline during your consultation.

Do you clean up after the job is done?

Yes — full removal and disposal of old materials is included, and we clean up before we leave.

Windows

What window styles do you install?

Garden, bow, bay, slider, casement, awning, picture, and single/double-hung windows, in vinyl, aluminum, or wood-frame options. Each style has its own dedicated page with more detail — see our Windows Replacement page for the full list.

Do you install retro-fit windows?

Yes — retro-fit windows install into your existing frame, which is often the more practical option for stucco homes where a full frame tear-out isn't ideal.

Can you match HOA-approved window styles?

Yes, we regularly work in HOA communities and can help you choose compliant styles before you apply for approval.

Doors

What door styles do you install?

Glass entry doors, sliding patio doors, folding (bi-fold) glass walls, and French-style patio doors in both in-swing and out-swing configurations. See our Door Replacement page for the full breakdown.

Do you replace interior doors too?

Yes, we can handle interior door replacement alongside an exterior glass door project.

Can you get privacy or obscure glass in a door?

Yes — frosted, textured, and obscure glass options are available for entry doors, French doors, and interior glass doors.

Shower Glass & Mirrors

What's the difference between frameless and framed shower glass?

Frameless enclosures use thicker tempered glass with minimal hardware for a cleaner, more modern look and easier cleaning; framed enclosures cost less but use more visible metal framing. Both are custom-fit and measured on-site.

Do you do custom glass cutting and mirror installation too?

Yes — beyond shower glass, we handle custom glass cutting and mirror installation, including large-format wall mirrors. See our Glass & Mirrors page.
